An online account at the VRay official forums (limited to VRay Advanced Owners) for discussion and support. This is an excellent resource for active users to solve problems.
Ability to download VRay for any version of 3ds max, 3ds VIZ, or 3ds max design from version 7 to current. Both 32 and 64 bit installers are available for max 9 to current.
Ability to run (simultaneously) VRay on any version of 3ds max from 7 to current on one workstation
Ability to render VRay on unlimited render slave machines (using 3ds max with backburner - call Trinity3D if you need help setting this up)
Ability to render VRay in "Distributed" mode where "spawner" on slave machines will contribute buckets to a primary machine. Up to 10 computers may contribute buckets (one bucket per core), this is a technical limitation from network traffic. Usually you will use BackBurner to render your stills and animations across multiple machines

VRay 1.50.SP 4a Now Available As of December 21st 2009, the newest build, V-Ray 1.50 Service Pack 4a for 3ds Max.
The V-Ray 1.50 Service Pack 4a is compatible with Autodesk 3ds Max 8, Autodesk 3ds Max 9, Autodesk 3ds Max 2008, 3ds Max 2009, Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2009, Autodesk 3ds Max 2010, Autodesk 3ds Max Design 2010.
The new V-Ray build supports both 32-bit and 64-bit OS.
It includes the following modified features:
• Added support for projection mapping when doing texture baking;
• Added new option to link the V-Ray VFB to PDPlayer;
And several bug fixes:
• Turning off "Affect specular" for a dome light made it invisible to reflections as well;
• Fixed a crash when importing a particular .vrmesh file;
• Fixed crash with VRayFastSSS2 material with VRayDirt map and a standard light with VRayShadowMap;
• The "prepass samples" option in the motion blur rollout did not work;
• Fixed stuck buckets with VRayEnvironmentFog and mesh gizmos;
• Fixed issues with VRayEnvironmentFog and mesh gizmos with modifiers;
• User could not remove gizmos/lights from VRayEnvironmentFog;
• ParticleFlow instancing did not render all mapping channels of original mesh;
• Fixed crash with VFB region render when region is outside of image;
• Turned off by default the option to save the DR servers to the scene (caused slowdown on scene save if servers are offline);
• Fixed some licensing issues.
Additional Details: This product now includes a shipped licensing dongle. Please note however that the actual product is downloaded. There are no DVDs or printed documentation included. With your order, Trinity will notify the developer to set up your personal account page and transmit your login details to your email address. With this account you can download the latest build of the software, install it and then request authorization from the developer for your installation. You will also get full access to e-documentation, support forums, tutorials and tutorial scene files, utilities and other tools for registered owners.

V-Ray RT follows the user’s actions while working on the scene and automatically and progressively generates a photorealistic preview of the scene. Designed to improve and speed up the Texturing and Lighting stage of 3D scene creation.
General
The V-Ray RT interactive rendering system has many advanced features; here only some of them are listed. Note that all features are subject to change without special notice.
Currently it is CPU-based. Does NOT require special graphics cards
All V-Ray RT needs is CPUs. As usual - we will use ALL of your CPUs and cores at no extra license cost.
However, the V-Ray RT architecture is very robust and if needed - it can seemlessly be implemented to allow new hardware acceleration technologies in the future.
Distributed rendering
V-Ray RT supports distributed rendering across multiple machines in the local network.
Integration with 3ds Max
V-Ray RT is an ActiveShade renderer in 3ds Max, separate from the production V-Ray renderer. V-Ray RT does not introduce new plugins other than the interactive renderer itself. Instead, the existing 3ds Max and V-Ray materials, textures, lights, cameras etc. are used.
V-Ray RT consists of two major components:
V-Ray RT interactive renderer in 3ds Max;
One or more V-Ray RT render servers.
V-Ray RT performs the actual rendering outside of 3ds Max itself, with the help of the V-Ray RT render server(s), which can run either locally on the same machine, or on other machine(s) in the local network. The renderer plugin in 3ds Max only relays the scene changes to the render servers and displays the final result.
Interactivity
A major feature of V-Ray RT is its ability to track changes to the scene performed by the user and automatically update the ActiveShade preview. The following scene changes are supported:
